Contacts

Ahmad Fauzi — GA handling agent, Hang Nadim

Siti (immigration counter) — Helpful, speaks good English, can expedite GenDec stamp

Costs

AVGAS 100LL IDR 22,000/L (~USD 1.35) — confirm on arrival, fluctuates monthly
Landing fee (GA) IDR 250,000 (~USD 15)
Parking overnight IDR 100,000/night
Handling (Fauzi) IDR 500,000 flat — worth it for the permit paperwork

Permit notes

FAEA processing through Fauzi’s agency took 3 working days. He handles the DGCA submission and sends you the approval PDF. Keep it on the iPad — they check it at the GA counter.

The permit covers a single round trip. If you plan to stay more than 30 days or want an open return date, ask for a multi-entry permit (costs more but saves a repeat application).

Fuel

AVGAS pump is on the GA apron, north side. Self-serve with a supervisor present. Pay cash IDR at the counter inside — they don’t take card. Bring enough IDR for fuel + fees + incidentals. ATMs at the terminal landside but not airside.

Parking and tie-down

Concrete apron, exposed. Bring your own tie-down kit — the airport supplies ropes but they’re not great. Chocks available on request. Covered hangar exists but is usually full of Indonesian military training aircraft; ask Fauzi if you need weather shelter.

Immigration

Batam is visa-on-arrival for most passports. The GA immigration desk is low-traffic and quick compared to the main terminal. Keep the GenDec clean and signed — they’re particular about it here.

Accommodation

Stayed at Nongsa Point Marina Resort on the northeast tip — about 35 min drive from the airport. Excellent waterfront rooms, good restaurant with views to Singapore. A bit pricey by Indonesian standards but very comfortable. Book direct, their website has better rates than OTAs.

What to avoid

Avoid arriving late Friday afternoon — the scheduled commercial wave plus the Singapore weekend-tripper boats mean the immigration queue at the main terminal spills over and delays everyone. Early morning or Saturday works well.
